Harry Werner

CHF XI -Harry Werner (Capt.) The CHF (Children's Hope Foundation) XI is an initiative of our foundation, sparked by a piece in journalist Peter FitzSimon's column "The Fitz Files". Fitz described what seemed to be an ordinary day in the life of young cricketer Harry Werner, playing under 13's for Cromer. At first glance, it didn't seem so remarkable that young Harry took a wicket (and then later a catch), until it was revealed that Harry has autism.

The Children's Hope Foundation got together with the fantastic support of John Rennie at Sommers International. Harry was fitted out with the necessary gear for him to enjoy what will hopefully be a long and enjoyable pastime for him.

It was an honour to meet Harry and his dad Peter (far right), and have John (on Harry's right) expertly fit him with the right equipment. The bat, gloves, pads, vest, cap and cricket bag proudly displays the Sommers "Mammoth" brand.

Just look at the smile and the determination in those eyes! Great stuff.

Don't forget a big hooray to the Cromer Under 13's cricket team members who generously and enthusiastically welcomed Harry into their side. True sportsmanship, thanks guys.
